Hi Manoj,
Welcome back to Math Geek VIP Days!
This week I am hosting a series of "flash deals" so you can save money on resources your students will love. Today's deal?
>>Get a 3-Year Membership to Digital Math Games for just $79 (with no recurring fees!)!
What is Digital Math Games?
Way too often, my experience with "technology in the classroom" has consisted of kids answering multiple choice or flash card type problems on a computer or simply the using the math textbook in an online format.
Or on the other end of the spectrum, kids playing math games that are really just games that happen to weave in some low-level computation practice.
This may technically be using technology, but does it actually enhance learning and deepen mathematical understanding?
In an effort to create a better option for using technology in elementary school, I built a new ad-free website which hosts more than 200 self-checking math activities (and growing) for Grades 3-6.
Although there are some limitations with the software (there are no open-ended tasks), the goal on Digital Math Games is to provide targeted skills practice that is purposeful and fun.
To include virtual manipulatives and visual models to help students actually understand the math concepts rather than memorize computation steps.
And to include lots of "story math" tasks that give an actual, meaningful context to the math problems.
We continue to add new games each month, and are now including printable recording pages to go along with each game, so students can show you their thinking and extend their learning beyond the game.
Over the last year, I've gotten great feedback from parents & teachers and have plans to continue improving the site & adding new games.
And to better meet teachers' needs, I've also added additional payment options. There is now a monthly option along with the annual payment option.
But I have also heard from teachers that their school won't pay for their membership because they won't sign up for a recurring subscription. Totally understandable.
And so for today's flash deal, you can sign up for a 3-year membership to Digital Math Games for the one-time fee of $79! This means it's just $2.19 per month, and you don't have to worry about a recurring subscription fee. That's $20 off the normal price.
So whether you snag this deal for yourself or use school funds, I can't wait to hear what you think of the site!
Here's what one mom told me recently:
"My son is quite good at math, and he wanted to do some extra practice at home to challenge himself. The first time we got on Digital Math Games, he spent an hour learning new skills and playing the games...on a Saturday! He says he can't wait to get back on. We highly recommend this as a tool to learn and reinforce skills that kids need to get ahead in math."

And although this is the last day of "flash deals," I wanted to do something to share my deep gratitude for you and all you do for your students everyday. So be on the lookout for an email tomorrow morning with a special "Friday Freebie."
