Hi friend!
I'm so honored you've decided to sign up for my newsletter at MathGeekMama.com. Hopefully by now you've downloaded your math games quick start guide. (If you missed that email, scroll to the bottom, I've included it here too!).
As a new reader, I wanted to send a quick email to share a little about myself and my purpose for sharing resources at MathGeekMama.com. And if you're so inclined, feel free to reply to this email and share a little about yourself with me! :)
First of all, I'm a mom to 4 amazing kids. Seriously, they're the best! I left the classroom to homeschool them, which we enjoyed for 8 years. But now I'm back in the classroom teaching at my kids' school! My husband is a pastor, and when I'm not creating new ways to make math fun, I'm serving alongside him.
So why in the world did I start MathGeekMama.com? I'm so glad you asked!
First of all, I LOVE teaching and creating fun lessons and games, and I miss being in the classroom. Sharing ideas on my site allows me to continue doing what I love while staying home with my kids.
Second, when I first started teaching, I never had the money to buy additional resources or materials. And as a homeschool mom, I still didn't have room in the budget for all the extras! So my primary goal at MathGeekMama.com is to bless other teachers and homeschoolers with high quality, fun and FREE math resources and games.
Even if all you use are the free resources, clicking around the site and sharing with your friends supports my family! So thank you!
I also have larger, paid printable options available in my shop, if you're looking for more complete and comprehensive collections.
Lastly, I sell math training courses for busy teachers. I worked hard to research, test and compile the best, proven teaching strategies and put them into bite-sized video training courses that you can complete from home, on your own time.
Improving your skills as a teacher or learning strategies that actually work can be time consuming and expensive. I know, because I have said no to multiple opportunities in the past because a course I wanted to take was $200...or $300...or $500.
By creating 'mini courses,' I was able to curate practical, easy to implement teaching ideas into courses that don't cost an arm and a leg, and that you can complete in a weekend. Woohoo!
I'll be sharing more about these courses in the next couple of emails, so stay tuned! (And here's a little secret...I have a special intro offer for you to say thanks for being a new subscriber!)
That's a really brief intro to who I am and why I do what I do! Have a question? Want to share something with me? Hit reply and let me know!
